Chelancamp was a weekend full of training, riding and sunshine. Had a great time with the peeps in our condo, and had some good mental training while on my bike. ...and learned the hard way that I can no longer use Gatorade.
First ride of the weekend, getting ready for some lovely rolling hills.
Almost at the top of a bastard hill on Saturday. I let my mind get the best of me so I stopped, threw some rocks from the top of a cliff into the lake, shouted a few obsenities, ate a pop tart and got back on my bike. Pop Tarts and Profanity.....the theme of my rides this summer.
Cut to the week before Memorial Day weekend. Nicole was coordinating a partial move of their belongings to Eagle Point so Michael would have some furniture for their new house. It was decided that we would road trip in the U Haul.....a butt numbing 8 hours, singing, laughing and having a great time. Granted, by the time we pulled into the parking lot at the Eagle Point City Hall to meet Michael, we were about as loopy as could be. Always remember....if speed doesn't get you, the rhythm will. Thank you to U Haul for putting the "Speed Kills" sticker over the 70 mph point on the speedometer and to Gloria Estefan for that hysterical bit of wisdom that Nicole came up with somewhere between Albany and Eugene.
